My favorite books are Gone with the Wind, by Margaret Mitchell, The Decameron, by Boccaccio, and The Count of Monte Cristo, by Alexandre Dumas. For the most part I love historical fiction, sci-fi and fantasy.
I am currently readinga book called Witches Brew, which is a collection of witchy short stories. I'm enjoying it immensely.

I haven't read Gone with the Wind, tho I'm planning to soon as I'm working on a fictional Civil War setting.
In addition to Lasher I'm about halfway thru On a Pale Horse by Piers Anthony. In my youth, I avoided this series for some reason. I don't recall why, but I'm glad I found it. It's a good treatment of the subject matter.

I read about half of Lasher and, while I had avoided anything by Anne Rice like it was the plague, I didn't mind Lasher all that much. I'm in the middle of reading Isaac Asimov's 'Caliban', though I've read it at least three times before. Also a book called A Song for Arbonne, though the name of the author escapes me right now. Side Note: Piers Anthony is awsome. As is Terry Pratchet.

Oh my gosh, I've read so many books since my last post in this thread. Currently, I'm just about to finish The Road to Omaha by Robert Ludlum.

Right now i'm going through several different series' while waiting for a bunch of new stuff to come out. I'm about halfway through the sixth of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum books, I've just started the Immortals series by Tamora Pierce, I have a travel guide for Europe sitting in there somewhere, and i'm looking for something Sci-fi just for the hell of it.
All of the above are just to tide me over until the next Dresden Files gets here. Then there are a bunch of other new ones due in the next few months. Not a lot of high class literature, but plenty of mindless entertainment.

I'm almost embarassed to say that I just started the Left Behind series. I'll finish the first book, but haven't decided yet whether it's worth my time reading the rest.

Forgot to mention the Narnia series. I've finally gotten around to them.

I'm not embarassed to say that I changed my mind about finishing the first book of the Left Behind series. I'll wait until Reader's Digest condenses all 12 books (so far) into 1.
I just finished uncertainty by Michael Larsen. He's Danish. I'm gonna read it again in about a week.

Is the Danish part significant?

I think so. He's not the first Danish author I've enjoyed. Actually, the translators should be given some credit as well.
